The Revolver X2 tonneau combines hard cover strength and security with soft cover convenience. The heavy-duty aluminum and vinyl cover sits flush on your vehicle and rolls up for full truck bed access. Easy, no-drill installation.
Features:
Get the advantages of both a hard tonneau cover and a soft tonneau cover for your vehicle with the Revolver X2. This hybrid tonneau likely has an identity crisis. It's built like a hard cover, but it looks and acts like a soft cover. With the Revolver X2, you get the strength, durability, and security of a hard tonneau and the sleek look and convenience of a soft, roll-up tonneau - all while protecting your truck bed and cargo and helping to improve your fuel mileage.
The secret to the Revolver X2's versatility is the aluminum slats on the underside of the cover that make it strong, seamless, and flexible. These individual, hinged slats give the cover its rugged body, while also allowing enough flexibility for the cover to be rolled up. Atop the slats is a tough, 1-piece vinyl layer that adds to the tonneau's sleek look and overall durability while also keeping the slats perfectly aligned. As a result, the Revolver X2 will roll up evenly every time, unlike ordinary soft vinyl covers that can get lopsided as you maneuver them.
Unlike other tonneau covers that sit 1/2" or more above your truck bed rails, the Revolver X2 sits nearly flush with your rails for a clean, ultra-sleek look.
The Revolver X2 gives you full use of your truck bed in a matter of seconds - just roll up the cover and secure it behind the cab. As a result, you can tote around all your gear without having to remove the tonneau. And because the Revolver X2 mounts inside your truck bed rails, you can still use your truck bed stake pockets to mount accessories like tie-down anchors.
The Revolver X2 is simple to operate. Following installation, just roll the cover out and press down on the rearmost slat at the tailgate to secure the tonneau in place.
The built-in latches not only lock down the back end of the tonneau, but they also fasten the sides of the Revolver X2 along the length of the frame rails. The rail tooth runs the entire length of each frame rail. It rotates downward to lock the side rail into the sides of the cover.
When the cover is rolled out and the rear slat is pressed down at the tailgate, the latches on both sides engage. When this happens, the integrated teeth pivot down and rest on top of each slat of the rolled-out cover. Closing the rear slat effectively pins the cover to the rails, ensuring that the cover stays closed from front to back. It's that simple - no Velcro to seal or snaps to wrestle with. When your tailgate is closed and locked, no one will be able to get through the cover, thereby safeguarding your truck bed and its contents. The cover automatically secures as the locking levers at the tailgate engage. These sturdy levers have reinforced gussets that give them added strength and durability. And they will never need adjustment.
To roll up the cover, unlatch the rear slat by dropping the tailgate and pulling either of the 2 release cords located along the bottom corners of the slat's housing. Either cord will release both of the latches so that you can raise the rear slat. When the latches are disengaged, the teeth roll back into the frame rails, releasing the sides of the cover so that you can easily roll it up. Just fold the rear slat over and roll up the cover the rest of the way.
Then secure the tonneau behind the cab with built-in nylon straps and sturdy plastic buckles. These straps help to keep the bundled tonneau from contacting your cab while you drive. And 4 rubber bumpers act as cushioned barriers between the cover and your truck cab.
The Revolver X2's rugged aluminum and vinyl construction makes it an ideal match for your truck, no matter what you do while at work or play. This cover is strong enough to hold up to 400 lbs of evenly distributed weight when it's rolled out. The 1/4" thick, aircraft-grade aluminum slats are covered with a textured black vinyl skin for superior resistance to impacts, UV rays, and weather. This skin is what gives the tonneau its soft, sleek look. While the Revolver X2 may look like a soft cover, its aluminum skeleton provides exceptional security because it cannot be cut through in the same way that a standard soft vinyl cover can be.
Felt strips on the underside of the tonneau help to keep the slats from scuffing the vinyl top as you roll up the cover. The soft felt also shields your hands when the cover has gotten hot or cold. And rubber strips overlay your truck's side rails, cab rail, and tailgate, creating a seal that helps to conceal any gaps and works to prevent water from seeping in.
Installing the Revolver X2 is simple. All you need is a wrench, and you don't have to do any drilling. The tonneau's frame rails clamp to the inside of your truck bed side rails to create a base for the cover. The included bolts secure the front hinge rail to the frame rails at the cab.
Slotted brackets at the ends of the tonneau side rails allow the bolts to shift in case you need to adjust the cover to achieve a snug fit. These brackets ensure proper alignment of the tonneau frame on your truck bed side rails. This eliminates trial and error in installing your rails - you won't have to put them on and then take them off again to get the correct fit. Pre-installed shims and spacers also help to ensure that the Revolver X2 rails are installed squarely on your truck bed.

Hey everyone, it's Joe with etrailer. Today we're doing an overview and an installation of the BAK Revolver X2 tonneau cover on the back of our 2024 Ford F-150. Now for first impressions on this, I think it looks really nice on the back of this F-150. It sits down between the rails here, and it sits pretty flat, and it even matches this trim pieces here. So I think it's gonna be a really solid option for any of the new F-150s. Now one thing we like to address is yes, this is gonna be nice and secure and very durable.
At the end of the day, if someone really wants to get into this to cover, they're gonna be able to. But since it is a nice hard tonneau cover too, it is gonna be a nice deterrent if someone does try and break in. Now one question we tend to get is, what is the difference between the X2 and an X4 Revolver tonneau cover Well, on our X2, it's gonna be black on top, and this aluminum on bottom, whereas X4 is just gonna be a flat black all around. Now another question we get asked a lot on these X2s is, are they ladder rack compatible And yes they are. And you can use ADARAC's ladder rack line.
Since these also leave the stake pocket open, ADARAC has a lot that will fit into those stake pockets. To actually use the cover, all you have to do is let your tailgate down, pull on this cable, you'll hear it click out of place, and then you can roll it back, and that'll release the lock on both sides of the vehicle. And the one question you get asked a lot is, can you roll this halfway back and lock it in place And in our case you cannot, but you can roll it all the way back, and have full access to your truck bed while still having majority of the access to your windshield, so you don't have to worry about it being blocked while you're driving. And then once you have it rolled back, all you have to do is put the strap over the top on both sides, tying it down, and you're good to go ahead, load up and drive off. And once you've unloaded your truck or got done driving around with it, you can just release those straps, roll it down, and then press down on both sides into place.
Now if you're looking for a tunnel cover that is gonna have the look of a vinyl soft roll up, but have the durability of a hard tonic cover, this is gonna be the best option for you in my own personal opinion. And now the installation on this isn't too bad. It is a little time consuming, but I mean if you have free Saturday or Sunday morning, you should have more than enough time to get this done. So to begin our installation, we went ahead, and we put our rails up here just to kind of get an idea of how they we inchesre gonna go in place. And we realized that we're gonna have to put the seal on, because those are gonna overlap the seal.
And to do so, what you'll have to do is take an alcohol wipe, and just go from one side to the other side of your bed rail, making sure it's all completely cleaned and dried off, and then all we'll have to do is peel back this adhesive on the back of it, just take it and go to the closest outside edge farthest away from our cab, and just kind of press down gently, and as we lay it down. And now that we have our bulkhead seal in place, what we'll do next is take our rail, and slide it up on top. And then from there, we'll take one of the clamps from our kit, loosen up just a bit, they're gonna be clamping onto the rail itself. And up here on our rail, you'll see that there'll be some ridges as well. So that's how we're gonna try and get this slotted in place. So what we'll do, take it, and slide up as far as we can go with it. And then I will start to tighten, tighten it up, and as you tighten it up, you can kind of feel when you pull down on a little bit if it's in slot with the ridges. But once we have that in place where we get her tying down a little bit so that it'll hold it. And then you'll wanna put some pressure on top of our rail as we tighten this up. And you don't wanna go too tight, or else, you'll warp the bed. Now whenever you're installing the clamps that go towards the front of the truck and towards the tailgate, you wanna make sure that from the bulkhead to where it's at is gonna be 12 inches or less. And same for the tailgate to the clamp. Now we went ahead and we repeated the same process for these other two clamps. And keep in mind that we're gonna also be repeating this process on the other side of the truck as well. Now with an extra set of hands, you can go ahead and get the to cover up in place, and then we're gonna lay this out, and scoot it back until it locks into place, and then we'll unroll it from there. Now with your tonneau cover latch down, what we'll do then is unroll it, and make sure everything's seating properly as we do that. Here, we'll see as we fold this down, you'll have these tracks here that line up kind of at the end of this rail. So what we wanna do is take one of our hex head bolts that are included in the kit, and slide it in there. And then what we wanna do is we kind of wanna slowly lay it down to where we can line those up properly. And once those are in place, we can go ahead, jump on the inside, and put the hardware on to actually hold it in place. So now underneath our to cover, we'll take one of the rubber washers, then a flat washer, and feed that up onto this bolt here. And then we'll take this knob, and thread it onto the end. And don't worry if your bolt's not coming through all the way. You can actually take and use your handle to pull it through the rest of the way. I have to do the same combination, right and rolling. And we went ahead and we repeated that same process on the other side. Now that everything is down nice and tight, we went ahead and we rolled it up and down a few times to make sure that it was moving smoothly and latching properly, which it was. And we even put up our tailgate to make sure there was no gap, which there wasn't either. And it fits perfectly. Now what we wanna do is we wanna roll up our tonneau cover like we have now, and take our clamp with a strap on it, and we wanna take it and hook it in place there. And also let out as much slack as you can whenever you put this clamp on. It makes it a lot easier when installing it. Now we'll take it and slide it up onto the rail, and you will wanna have this installed in front of the clamp here. And then we'll just tighten it down with the same 9/16th wrench you used earlier. Now you can go ahead and cinch it down, and repeat that process on the other side. Now we're gonna take our bumpers, and we're gonna mock them up. So we're gonna have one up here and one down here. We're just like aiming to have them in slots where it's closest to the glass. So in case this does happen to roll back too far when you're rolling it back, it won't actually damage the glass here. And to do this, all we'll have to do is take, peel off this tape on the backside, and stick it in place. And there are these little grooves you can see. They'll kind of pop down in there whenever you press in on it. Now you can take a look and see what it looks like with everything on the tonneau cover. And you can also notice I did leave a gap in between the bumpers too, just to make sure it covered more area. Now our seals you can tell, are in pretty good shape, but if yours aren't sitting completely flush, what you can do is you can take a hair dryer or a heat gun, and be very gentle with it to get these to sit flush, or you can just leave it outside, and that exposure from the sun will also help them sit flush. But with that said, that'll complete the installation of the BAK Revolver X2 on our 2024 Ford F-150.
Looks great. Ease of operation is grea t.
Great cover! Arrived on time.
I have used this over a year now and it works perfect.
I’ve had this cover for over a year and have nothing but great things to say about it. It’s solid, well built, and kept whatever I’ve put in the bed dry.
Easy Install. Looks Great. I love that I can keep everything locked without any extra keys.
Fast delivery as usual form etrailer. Product looks great.
Tonneau cover installed without any problems. Directions are excellent.
This cover has been great with no problems whatsoever after one year. I highly recommend it and would certainly buy it again, but I think it will last a long time so, it will probably not be until my next truck.
I love this roll up cover. Only takes up an extra inch of space.
I still like the top. However, if you are in an area that gets a lot of rain, plan on either it being wet inside the box or plan on doing some extra effort to seal out the rain water.
I have to say...it was just like it said. Easy to install as it took me about an hour and 20 minutes with no drilling and it works easy and looks great!
Easy easy to use and perform well
Great product! The only issue I have is the straps that secure the cover when rolled up. If they were a couple of inches longer, it would be easier to get my fat little fingers in there.
Great product. Had the same type of BAK rolling cover on my old truck. Looks good and functional. I like that it allows me to use the whole bed. Great service from Etrailer.com.
As always, outstanding customer service. Had to call before buying with weird question about compatibility with equipment management systems. They took time to find an obscure reference confirming it would fit.
Pretty straightforward to install, looks great. Anticipating it to function as designed. Super good video preview to know what you have picked and how it compares to other styles
W LOVE OUR COVER FOR OUR GMC BEDCOVER. IT DOES NOT LEAK AND KEEPS THINGS CLEAN.
WOULD RECOMMEND TO ANYONE NEEDING A BED COVER
KEITH MLONE
Love this cover. It gives me the freedom of an open truck bed and the security of a locked trunk. It's been nice keeping my fly fishing gear secured in the back and ready to use at a moments notice.
I have had this cover for one year and I would not buy it again. I read the reviews about how terrible this design is in climates that has freezing temps, but I live in New Orleans so freezing rain and snow was not a concern.
Turns out it’s not just cold weather and ice that ruins this, so doesn’t the sun and heat. The vinyl cover that you see when the cover is down is glued to a bunch of aluminum pieces and this design allows it to roll up and down. When the sun heats up the vinyl the glue separates from the aluminum sections and the cover will not roll up or down.
Don’t get me wrong, the concept is great, but the companies execution is off. I think I bought the second iteration and if I were you I would wait until the 6th or 7th version. They are far from getting this design right.
The felt-like lining that lies on underside of cover (and acts as cushion for rolling?) had bad glue job. This material came off in under 1 year. Appears that the glue was not meant for hot weather, as it came off in summer heat. Disappointed. Mfg website does not provide instructions on what glue to use to reattach, so had to experiment to find glue that would work to reattach. Perhaps in future they should use mechanical attachment instead of glue method...
The only issue I've experienced with this cover that I was not pleased with was it blew up from one corner during a very strong crosswind and several of the plastic rail clips broke. I consider it an anomaly since its never happened again. BAK sent me replacement parts at no cost. The repair was simple.
On the positive side the cover gives you additional security from theft due to its construction. It's expensive but I feel worth the money, especially when protection of valuable cargo is needed.
Perfect for the hard working truck fans! Great quality for the money! I love the fact that I can completely conceal my tools and gear without sacrificing the full use of the truck bed! Highly recommend!
Love my BAK Tonneau cover. If there was one thing I've had an issue with is in the winter the track can freeze down and stop you from opening the cover. But other then that I am very happy with it.
The roll up cover has performed very well in cold temperatures and warm. The top is water proof even when sprayed at the car wash. I like the security provided when the tailgate is locked. Overall very happy and would purchase this again.
